Marble Marble Marble

I had a great long weekend in Boise, hit some mountain bike trials, floated down the river, and generally enjoyed the vibe of the town. Just don’t tell people you are from California or about half of the folks you meet might suggest you go back to where you came from. What people in Boise do love is marble, as they have used literal tons of it to build the very beautiful Idaho State Capitol.

Soaring into 2020

Normally I’m more interested in landscapes than birds in flight, but when I knew there would be a bald eagle nearby I rented a big lens (not big enough) and stalked this eagle until I got the shot. Cheers to another great year and to soaring into 2020 with big things ahead of us!

Tree of Hope

Christmas has come and gone, but the Tree of Hope at Grace Cathedral shines on. This tree is decorated with thousands of origami cranes. Each one has a handwritten message of hope from people around the world. Cheers to a new year and making all of your hopes and dreams come true!

Almost Sunset

Market Street is a busy scene, lots of things happening and people going every direction. Just before the sun went down I had a clear view all the way to the Ferry Building and some nice light with the sun low in the sky.

Tafoni for Me, Tafoni for You

I’ve avoided this photo for awhile, mostly because it was so busy I didn’t really know how to edit it. Looking at it with fresh eyes, I like the way the misty day and soft green moss leads you to the intricate and weird patterns in the tafoni rock. Take a short hike from Skyline Boulevard and you too could check out these interesting rocks.

Little Nemos

These little clownfish, or as they might be more affectionately known as Nemo, love to hide in anemones. They love it so much in fact that it took quite a while for me to catch them lined up just like this and grab a photo.

Mossy Light

Covered in moss and covered in light makes for quite the combo.

Holding on for Life

Sometimes, to get that sweet sweet nectar you have to do extraordinary things.

Canadian Clouds

A quick hike up 400 steps to the top of Mount Royal rewards you with this view of Montreal! We made it up here just before sunset and were able to spot the places we had been earlier in the day throughout the city.

Mega Mendocino

The sharp cliffs and rocky arches of the Mendocino Headlands can be overwhelmingly beautiful. Best to take a step back and try to appreciate the sea, the sky and the land all spreading out before you.
