Sometimes it is the darkest skies that have the best colors. After the sun goes down the little light that was left over San Francisco was deep blue and purple and very moody.

Fog City
It is unclear (get it?!?) to me why I would expect to see all of the skyline in a city known for fog. What this view lacks in a crisp view of the skyline it makes up for with a mysterious glow in the sky and the traffic below.
Happy 4th of July!
The only thing better than watching fireworks is editing pictures from last year’s fireworks! San Francisco puts on a great show, and Treasure Island is a good spot to get a view of the city as well as the fireworks. Happy 4th of July!
Christmas in the Rotunda
To see this tree you only have to take a few steps away from the crowds of Union Square. The tree itself is huge, but all the intricate details of the surrounding room really make it feel extra festive.
Marin Sunset
Marin has many great spots to catch a sunset. From here you are up above the Golden Gate Bridge, and get a big view of the bay before you with San Francisco in the background. This was a perfect night, with clear weather and just a few wispy clouds to light up the sky.
Fading Fast
The light was changing quickly and I had to move fast. I couldn’t see the horizon in any direction from where I was in the city. When I looked up I realized the shot I was looking for was right above me and my problems were solved.
Nice Night for Fishin’
As usual I came here for the sunset, but word on the street is that this beach is also a good place to catch some fish. On this night everyone got what they wanted!
Pink and Blue
Looking to the east you don’t see the sunset, but the reflecting light in the clouds is just as good when it creates colors like these.
