Christmas has come and gone, but the Tree of Hope at Grace Cathedral shines on. This tree is decorated with thousands of origami cranes. Each one has a handwritten message of hope from people around the world. Cheers to a new year and making all of your hopes and dreams come true!

The Waiting Game Pays Off
Scouting out the perfect sunset spot. Standing around in the cold. Being late for dinner. Sometimes it all pays off and the sunset happens just as you pictured it with the perfect red rocks, clouds and colors from the sunset.
Sedona Star
Climbing around on rocks is the thing to do in Sedona. The timing for this hike was perfect for me to get the sun right in the middle of Cathedral Rock. The bright light was a perfect path to follow to our destination.
The Middle of the Rock
The hike up to the saddle of Cathedral Rock isn’t far, but it is way up above where you start. The vantage point isn’t expected until you pop out at the top, and get a nice look at the rock on each side of you and the view down below.
Cities and Clouds
I’m a sucker for cities. I’m a sucker for clouds. Lisbon is a great city, and was nice enough to provide clouds so you better believe I was out there with my camera! I started most nights on our hotel rooftop, and was able to get this shot without even leaving our temporary home!
Grace Cathedral at Dusk
Light and angles are two important parts of photography. For this shot I chose dusk for the light and wide for the angle to make a beautiful cathedral a little crazy and dramatic.
Grace and Joy at Christmas
Grace Cathedral gets all decked up for Christmas, including a clever banner that lets you know it is the season of joy!
New Bridge, Old Cathedral
The Millennium Bridge crosses the River Thames in London, and is an excellent contrast to the iconic St. Paul’s Cathedral in the background. Many people pass here everyday as their typical commute, but I had to stop and admire the new architecture in front of the old classics.
Zoom Zoom
Cathedrals are cool and all, but so are light trails from cars zooming by. The night was pretty quiet, but I still managed to get a few cars to drive by to light up the foreground.
San Gervasio
The amazing Cathedral of San Gervasio in Valladolid Mexico occupied much of my time on my visit. Who wouldn’t be taken by the structure and the dramatic sky in the background? I arrived just in time to get a couple of shots before a huge bus pulled up and parked itself right in front and people were swarming everywhere. I guess timing is everything!
