Cities at night are one of my favorite times for photography. For now I’m staying in and getting my photography fix by going through photos I’ve taken on past trips, like this beautiful night out in Hong Kong last year.

Mountains to the Sea
Iceland has amazing sights and photo worthy spots everywhere, all the way from the mountains to the sea.
Ice Cold!
I wish I was feeling ice cold right now! It hit the 90s in the Bay Area today, much too hot for my liking. I’m thinking back to when I was on this amazing beach in Iceland two years ago. There is a huge bay surrounded by a glacier nearby where icebergs break off from the glacier and float out into the ocean. Small chunks wash up on the black sand beach, like this unique little bit of ice.
Hong Kong Across the Harbor
Hong Kong is fantastic. You have to make time to eat all the delicious food as well as take in the many beautiful views of the city!
Sempervirens Falls
California has seen a lot of rain this year, so much that we are out of a drought! I celebrated by checking out Sempervirens Falls for the first time. Big Basin Redwoods State Park never disappoints, and this waterfall is easy to get to and great to photograph.
The Falls Below the Bridge
This angle of Christine Falls is not the one you normally see. I took this from the bridge very close to the falls, where the water drops straight down below you only a few feet away. There is a viewpoint down the road, but I decided to get up to the edge of the bridge, and shoot it top to bottom in a vertical panorama. This distorts the height of the falls and makes it feel like it is snaking through the rocks in front of you.
Lupine in the Spring Thaw
In Iceland you expect to see ice and snow, but it is actually much more green and full of life than you might think. These colorful lupine were here to add some great contrast to the usual landscape of running water and snow.
The Hill and the Tree
I did a quick trip up this hill with a friend to make it to this spot just in time for the last bit of sunset. The sky over the bay was beautiful, but one tree sticking out on its own really stood out for me.
Zion Isn’t Just for Rocks
It’s also for waterfalls! A short hike and a steady tripod was all that it took to get a shot of this little waterfall.
