Pebble Beach on Washington Island has many rocks, but you can’t take any of them home! That would be against the rules. Instead I just enjoyed all the layers of color in the water.

Misty Mount Rainier
A very wet and misty day set the mood for my trip to Mount Rainier. No big views of the volcano, but I quite liked the clouds and fog that were everywhere.
The Falls Below the Bridge
This angle of Christine Falls is not the one you normally see. I took this from the bridge very close to the falls, where the water drops straight down below you only a few feet away. There is a viewpoint down the road, but I decided to get up to the edge of the bridge, and shoot it top to bottom in a vertical panorama. This distorts the height of the falls and makes it feel like it is snaking through the rocks in front of you.
Panoramic Seattle
They call it the Emerald City, but on this night the sky turned all of Seattle purple and blue just as the sun was disappearing! It took me quite a while to get this panorama shooting 19 individual frames handheld and working around window glare, and I really like how it turned out. A combination of good light and clouds like this makes up for all the times I’ve lugged my camera around and the weather didn’t cooperate.
Peppers!
Those of you who know me know that this is one of my favorite photos. If you haven’t seen it, consider this my Christmas present to you. The gift that keeps on giving, the gift of peppers!
This was taken in Seattle at the farmer’s market. First, I spent some time taking pictures of some not very photogenic fish. Those pics aren’t really photo blog worthy. These peppers on the other hand were certainly my favorite shot of the day!
