Why So Blue?

Because everything around me is so red I guess.

First Light at Cave Point

This wasn’t the shot I was going for but it was the shot that I got! I was playing around with my ND filter to smooth out the waves and make the lake look misty. I got a little bit of that effect, but ended up making the picture more about the sunstar I was able to capture shortly after sunrise. The smoother water also lets you see the rocks above and below the surface clearly.

All the Rocks

Pebble Beach on Washington Island has many rocks, but you can’t take any of them home! That would be against the rules. Instead I just enjoyed all the layers of color in the water.

Round and Round

Sometimes it’s nice to take a ride, and sometimes it’s nice to take a picture of the ride!

The Mist

Hiking up and down the hills of Butano State Park led to lots of different climates in a short distance. This particularly misty section was beautiful and thick with a green covering on the floor of the forest.

Nothing to See Here!

Nothing to see here, certainly not a friendly little green bug just trying to blend in with the little green bits of this flower. Move right along please and don’t bother the bug!

Make Today Amazing

Sometimes you need to just wander around a new city to discover places like this. We were on our way to find some delicious beverages, but had to stop and take some pics of this colorful stairwell, complete with inspirational quotes in English despite this being in Hong Kong and a tree making the best of a difficult place to put down roots.

These Horses Know How to Live

I’ll be honest, I’m not a big fan of horses. I’d rather walk or bike than ride a horse, but Icelandic horses make me think differently. Their main job must be to hang around and look very majestic. This group absolutely posed themselves just perfectly in this arrangement because they knew I was coming, no doubt about it!

Sempervirens Falls

California has seen a lot of rain this year, so much that we are out of a drought! I celebrated by checking out Sempervirens Falls for the first time. Big Basin Redwoods State Park never disappoints, and this waterfall is easy to get to and great to photograph.

In the Desert

Life in the desert can be hard. Keep it interesting by showing off your bright green colors whenever you can!
