Make the Corner or End Up In The Drink

This is a scenic stairway that comes with a price if you don’t pay attention. Crater Lake is beautiful, but if you don’t turn when the stairs do you may find yourself falling down to the water below.

Make the Corner or End Up In The Drink

What Once Was

Once people walked on these floors and these stairs. Now they are no more.

Bottom of the Stairs

The view of the bottom of some of the 294 steps to the top of the Bunker Hill Monument in Boston. I’m a photographer, but I’m also an engineer so I was impressed with the structure and the patterns inside of the tower.

The Way Out

This was the first thing I saw after emerging from a cave dive in Mexico. The cave was called Kukulkan. True, it was the way we came in, but from this vantage point I was still in the water after swimming through caves, and it looked quite different. I can’t say I was in a hurry to get out of this place, but the effect of the light at the end of the tunnel got my attention.

Golden Staircase

This was taken inside the Pilgrim Monument on Cape Cod in Massachusetts. I wasn’t as eager to start the hike up the stairs as I was to get a photo of the interesting symmetry on the way up. I also liked the way the combination of man made and natural light give the stairs different colors.

Cenote Exit

This was the very first cenote a saw on my trip to Mexico. It just so happened to be on the property of some friends who live down there! I might have seen a few later on that were more photogenic, but this one left an impression on me and it is very unique. The bright light shining in from the entrance really contrasts with the dark deeper reaches of the cenote.

Going Down?

These steps in the Yaquina Bay Lighthouse were old, creaky and didn’t really go anywhere, but the view from the top was cool!

Stairway to Nowhere

An interesting old staircase that leads to somewhere you probably don’t want to go.
