Vanishing Point
From this vantage point the old columns surrounding the ruins of Chichen Itza seem to go on forever.
Valladolid
A quick walk around Valladolid was anything but boring. The brightly colored buildings, the old cathedral in the distance, the mopeds everywhere. I loved it, and it was hard to leave.
A Bend in the River
Actually this isn’t a river, it is the ocean receding at low tide, but the crazy path the water chose to take is worth noting. I could have sat here all night taking photos of the dramatic sky, but the tide was coming back in and my path home was getting wetter by the second.
Chichen Itza
The Mayan ruins of Chichen Itza. A shot that has been taken many times before, but when in Rome, er Mexico, you do what you gotta do.
Happy 4th of July
Fireworks as seen over Raley Field in Sacramento after a River Cats game. Have a safe and happy 4th of July!
I Can Feel It Slipping Away
This wide angle shot makes it feel as if the scene is slowly slipping away, all the way to the Capitol in the distance.
Live Wires
I ran by this exact spot about 20 minutes earlier, and the sun was sitting just below the lowest of the wires perfectly behind the clouds. By the time I ran back and got my camera, it had fallen below the trees. At first I was disappointed, but I like the way the tree blocks the direct light of the sun.
Stata Center
The Ray and Maria Stata Center at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. I was in the area and knew I had to photograph this building. The challenge with anything that is well photographed is to do something different. I’m probably not the only person to take this angle, but I wanted to focus on looking up at this crazy building, and made a jagged overhang the foreground of the shot.
Kaleidoscope
The crazy colors and lights in the lobby of Compuware Headquarters in Detroit looked more like the inside of a kaleidoscope to me!
