The Tree and the Sky

The tree looks pretty dead, but the sky has a lot going on!

Fire Above the Tracks

This sunset was just crazy. I made quick work of getting from my house to this spot in order to capture it! I like the way the tracks disappear off into the center of the last remaining light.

End of the Line

I almost expected to see a ghost train while on this spooky old set of railroad tracks, but I did not. Instead I saw where trains used to cross the San Francisco Bay, but not much else happens today.

California Fall

I always say I miss the seasons here in California as we don’t get the same intensity of trees changing color as I’m used to. This time I didn’t have to go too far to find a taste of fall, a few trees in the Santa Cruz Mountains were participating in the fall season.

Sunset at Turtle Rock

I’ve shot at this spot before, and this time I was just hoping for some greener grass from the recent rain. While the grass was greener, I also decided to shoot through these rocks to highlight them along with the sunset.

To the Tetons!

I’ll get tired of winter someday, but for now I’m still sticking with it. This one is also from a recent trip to Jackson. The sky wasn’t clear enough to get the iconic peaks in, but there were constant clouds rolling in and out to make things interesting.

Skyline Sundown

My only goal driving down Skyline Boulevard was to catch the sunset, but I didn’t have much of a plan. The first trail I stopped at was a winner, I only had a short hike to get this shot.

Late Spring Snow

It snowed in Tahoe at the start of the Memorial Day weekend this year. Given the low amount of snowfall this past winter, I didn’t have high expectations for the waterfalls. On a hike above Wrights Lake I discovered a few perfect inches of snow around Silver Creek and just enough of it was melting to create some great little waterfalls!

Northeast Late Fall

I really wanted to know what was in that shed, but I decided to heed the warning on the door.

BU Bridge

The view of the train bridge converted to a bike path from the Boston University Bridge almost gives you too much to take in at once. Graffiti, boats, skyline, all very different elements in one place. While I was standing here a sailboat slowly crashed into the bridge, and was quickly pulled away by another boat. These rental boats must get some good abuse!
