An old oak tree, the setting sun, and a vineyard. Fall colors don’t really happen in most of Northern California, but there are still places to take advantage of the cooling weather and take some photos.

Two Snacks

Some people don’t find banana slugs very interesting, but I like the chance to practice my macro work. I watched this guy eat a leaf for awhile before noticing he wasn’t the only one having a snack. There is also some type of bug that looks to be biting the slug!

California Fall

I always say I miss the seasons here in California as we don’t get the same intensity of trees changing color as I’m used to. This time I didn’t have to go too far to find a taste of fall, a few trees in the Santa Cruz Mountains were participating in the fall season.

The path of this trail cuts away the earth, so you can see not only the trees above, but the roots below.
