I don’t always give my photos the black and white treatment, but when I do I make sure they are spooky like these trees. What made this hike unique was the mix of sun and fog. I didn’t take many pictures of the sun, but these trees in the fog caught my eye.

NYC in the Sun
The sun was harsh but the city was beautiful. Black and white was the only way to properly capture the very edge of the city.
NYC in the Spring
New York is fantastic in the spring. I was lucky enough to be there when the cherry blossoms were in full bloom on Roosevelt Island, offering a colorful border to the Manhattan skyline.
California Fall
I always say I miss the seasons here in California as we don’t get the same intensity of trees changing color as I’m used to. This time I didn’t have to go too far to find a taste of fall, a few trees in the Santa Cruz Mountains were participating in the fall season.
Sunset at Turtle Rock
I’ve shot at this spot before, and this time I was just hoping for some greener grass from the recent rain. While the grass was greener, I also decided to shoot through these rocks to highlight them along with the sunset.
Milwaukee Winter
Getting ready for my annual trip to the Midwest reminded me I had shots from last year to share. I hope that I’m ready for the cold!
Skyline Sundown
My only goal driving down Skyline Boulevard was to catch the sunset, but I didn’t have much of a plan. The first trail I stopped at was a winner, I only had a short hike to get this shot.
Over the Bridge
I’ve driven through the tunnel on Yerba Buena Island many times, but never stopped to check it out. When I finally did, I learned there really isn’t that much there except a lot of “No Trespassing” signs and abandoned buildings. I did find this vantage point in a precarious spot overlooking the Bay Bridge. It wasn’t easy to hang out there very long, but the view of San Francisco was worth it!
Boston Skyline
I’ve been in Boston quite a bit recently, so I decided to enjoy this particularly cold night out at Piers Park photographing the city. A few tiny clouds rolled in at just the right time to make things a bit more interesting.
