It was almost time for dinner. Thankfully I wasn’t hungry yet and snuck in a few long exposure shots just after the sun went down and the sky still had the faintest light. A guest appearance by some light traffic added popping color.

Some sunsets have clouds, some sunsets are yellow. This one has a crazy shade of purple and a joshua tree. I used a flash and a green gel to light the tree up in a color that offset the sunset. It worked even better than I expected!

The old Cadillac was very cool, but I wanted to focus on just the hood ornament. Going for a macro shot meant I could really make it look like she was flying.

I expected to see lots of awesome scenery in Point Lobos, but I did not expect to see crabs hiding in the rocks. Once you saw one, they seemed to be everywhere on the rocks along the shore.

Taken from onboard the boat taking us away from this beautiful island, and on to the next stop. We were hard to miss with this bright red deck against the water.

This might not be the kind of Fast and Furious that is all the rage these days, but I’m still fully on board. If I had the opportunity to drive this Ferrari I might just take it to a screening of the latest installment of the infamous movie franchise.

This ornament was originally my dad’s. It was designed to hold a light that is bigger than the ones on my tree, but I liked the way it shines and made it work. Merry Christmas!

I just got back from Costa Rica, and I hate to admit it but I took way too many photos. A few made it worth the effort. It rained during the day which we didn’t appreciate at the time, but at night it meant that this tree frog was out and about. A local showed us where to look. It took some searching around in the dark, actually more listening than looking, but there he was waiting. I found what I was looking for, I hope he found the insects he was looking for.

I think the details on antique cars can be the best part.

It doesn’t snow where I live, but it does where I grew up. When I’m home for the holidays I get a chance to appreciate all the cold and snow! Merry Christmas!
