Embarcadero Cruising

Traffic on The Embarcadero never stops. The good news is that if you wait until sun down, the lights and the Ferry Building really make the palm trees glow.

The Tiny Seahorse

Last week was all about the big sharks, this week is all about a tiny seahorse. I was very lucky to see multiple seahorses during my dive at Blue Heron Bridge. This orange seahorse was happy to stay still for his photo op, which I greatly appreciated! The eyes are very interesting, it almost looks as if they are completely hollow.

The Curious Sharks

Why would I go diving with sharks? To dispel the myth that they are interested in biting people. These sharks were very curious and wanted to check out all the divers around them, but they are very aware of what type of food they are looking for, and it isn’t us. The chance to be up close and personal with these impressive animals was a very exciting opportunity and something I’ll never forget. You can see two other divers with cameras doing the same thing I was, trying to get clear photos of these amazing creatures. Long live the sharks!

Desert Nights

I take my camera everywhere. On this trip I didn’t expect to do much shooting, but since I brought it with me I had to get out and shoot at least once. The result was an accident, it must have been the only car that drove by while I was out there. I just happened to be in the middle of a long exposure to get the dreamy look in the palm trees. The car went by leaving the light streaks and I knew I could call it a night!

Three Palms

I’m going to do one more quick and dirty photo from the dreaded camera phone, and then I’ll get back to business. This one is from downtown Sacramento, and heavily processed by one of those ever so clever vintage apps. It works well for this one, giving the palms trees an old California feel and letting them stand out against a modern building in the background. Enjoy!
