Painted Ladies

I’ve lived near San Francisco for years and never taken this shot to death and clichĂ©d photo before? Looks like I solved that problem. DONE! Enjoy the Painted Ladies of San Francisco, and reminisce about watching Full House in years past.

Fuzzy Berries

I found these small fuzzy berries on the side of a trail and had to stop to get a photo. I’m not sure exactly what they were, but the closer I got the more detail that they revealed.

Tree Lined Trail

This relaxing trail had the perfect layer of trees on each side to protect it from the nearby coastal winds.

Watcha Lookin’ At?

This Elk was near the beach in a pretty populated area of Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park in California. You could tell he was accustomed to the attention, but he didn’t necessarily like it. He just sat there sizing up everyone as they walked along the trail.

Stump Pattern

If this fallen tree could talk I’m sure it would have lots to say. I was more interested in the way the center of the tree had rotted away, and that the deterioration of the whole thing had created a really strong pattern!

Market and 18th St.

The city of San Francisco from above. This probably isn’t the view you think of when you hear the words San Francisco, but you’ll find some very typical San Francisco elements in this photograph. There is Market Street (curved in the center) the Castro Theater, and of course the San Francisco Bay itself.

Snowy Barn

This is a typical view in the area I grew up of a snowy barn in winter. I have to admit it is a sight that I miss every once in awhile!

Emergency!

There are certain things that are good to know when strolling in San Francisco on a sunny afternoon. If there is a serious water emergency, and you simply must stop the creek, there is a big red button to do just that available to you! I’m not sure what made the button so sad that it was branded “Emo” for all of its days. Perhaps it was that no one has ever pushed it.

The Way Down

One of my favorite hikes is Half Dome in Yosemite. This view of the cables on the way down means a lot of things. It means that you have come a long way, you’ve seen the top, and you still have a good couple hours of downhill that will be harder than you think before you get home.

Utah Slope

I took this shot while skiing at Powder Mountain in Utah. Obviously there was some fresh snow to be had on this blue bird day!
