The colors behind have already popped, but these white buds are holding out a little while longer before showing off their flowers.

Into the Fog
I don’t always give my photos the black and white treatment, but when I do I make sure they are spooky like these trees. What made this hike unique was the mix of sun and fog. I didn’t take many pictures of the sun, but these trees in the fog caught my eye.
The Pea
This little guy is about the size of a pea, and very hard to find in the great big ocean. This juvenile trunkfish will grow up to be something completely different, but now he is basically a floating pea. He also doesn’t like to hold still very long to have his picture taken! I saw him while diving recently on the West End Wall in Roatan.
Man with a Knife
Most animals don’t want to get involved with a man with a knife, but this bird thought it was a rare opportunity for the best view around!
Mr. Moose
I just got back from Wyoming. There was lots of fresh snow to ski on every day, and as an added bonus I got to get up close and personal with some pretty big wildlife!
Highland Cow
The shaggy coat of this Highland Cow was equally at home in her native Scotland, or where I found her in chilly Wisconsin.
Lit Up Like the Fourth of July
There is nothing more American than watching fireworks after a baseball game. This is exactly what I did last night in celebration of Independence Day!
Late Spring Snow
It snowed in Tahoe at the start of the Memorial Day weekend this year. Given the low amount of snowfall this past winter, I didn’t have high expectations for the waterfalls. On a hike above Wrights Lake I discovered a few perfect inches of snow around Silver Creek and just enough of it was melting to create some great little waterfalls!
The Fastest Easter Bunny
I saw this version of the Easter Bunny during the Schlittentag, or German Sledding Day, race at Alpine Meadows this weekend. His homemade carrot sled didn’t stay on the course for more than a few seconds after I took this, but he deserved points for style!
The Split
When I saw this bridge I knew I had to stop. I like the way the old train bridge is reaching up into the cloudy sky, while the tracks run off in different directions below.
