This shot is taken from behind one of the many waterfalls in Silver Falls State Park in Oregon. It was a beautiful day, and walking behind this waterfall made a wet Oregon day even wetter. It was worth it for the view!

Behind the Falls
Winter Sky in the City
The bare trees in the winter against the constant shape of the buildings in the city. The trees may have leaves, may have snow, or may be just empty branches but the city skyline will always stay the same.
The Trail
This is the trail that leads to Salt Creek Falls in Oregon. It was lightly raining on the day that I took this. It seemed as if there was a constant state of running water on this trail, and you can see that by the way the center of the trail is washed out. The positive side of all of the rain and water is that everything is bright green!
Winter Trees
The leaves are starting to fall off of the trees and soon they will all look like this. I liked the way the outer trees framed this shot, and some smaller trees in the middle let the sun just poke through.
Salt Creek Falls
I was not looking for Salt Creek Falls. I was planning a detour after getting rained out of a night of camping. This gave us some extra time to get to the next spot and I was looking for things to see. A small sign for Salt Creek Falls was all that it took to get me to stop, and I was greeted by the second highest waterfall in Oregon at 286 ft.
Towers and Trees
The Omni Hotel in San Diego is in a great location, close to the ocean and the gas lamp, and surrounded by signature palm trees. This angle allowed me to capture both the trees and the tower together.
Mt. Shasta Sunset
On a drive home I found a good overlook towards Mt. Shasta around sunset. As a big fan of snow and the mountians, it was great to see traces of snow on the far away peak. I had to stop a few times to find a spot with a clear enough line of sight to get this shot. I thought about trying to keep the power poles out of the frame, but decided that leaving them in add a little extra detail to the photo.
Lewis and Clark Yurt
I’m convinced that this is the best yurt at South Beach State Park in Oregon. It is called the Lewis and Clark Yurt. There is a short walk up a little hill to get to it, and it has a private deck that looks out into the tree tops. The ocean is nearby and made for some great sounds to fall asleep to. A little light painting with my headlamp on this long exposure gave the yurt a cool color!
The River
One of the first stops on a recent trip through Oregon was this spot on the Rogue River. The rushing water and lush green were a good introduction to what was in store for us on the trip.
