Highland Cow

The shaggy coat of this Highland Cow was equally at home in her native Scotland, or where I found her in chilly Wisconsin.

Merry and Bright

It doesn’t snow where I live, but it does where I grew up. When I’m home for the holidays I get a chance to appreciate all the cold and snow! Merry Christmas!

Milwaukee Winter

Getting ready for my annual trip to the Midwest reminded me I had shots from last year to share. I hope that I’m ready for the cold!

Top of the Tower

I was the only one in the group brave enough to summit Eagle Tower on this cold winter afternoon. At ground level you are surrounded by dormant trees, but at the top you get a glimpse of the sun.

Boston Skyline

I’ve been in Boston quite a bit recently, so I decided to enjoy this particularly cold night out at Piers Park photographing the city. A few tiny clouds rolled in at just the right time to make things a bit more interesting.

Park of Lights

Merry Christmas from my homeland of Wisconsin!

The Swoop

I can’t take all the credit for this one, a friend pointed out the way this water was curved on a hike at Squaw Valley. I took the liberty of playing with the harsh light and shadows to help bring out the curve of water.

Rushing

The top portion of South Fork Silver Creek Falls. I made sure to take a low angle on this shot to get as close as I could to the cool rushing water.

The Teacups

I hiked the South Fork of Silver Creek in the Sierras today, and of course my camera was along for the ride. The water is high right now due to the huge amount of snow we have from last winter. This section of descending pools is called the teacups. The rushing water wasn’t very tea like, but if I try hard enough I can visualize layers of little teacups spilling into one another.

Cave Diving

A diver in front of me on a cave dive in Mexico. This isn’t a technically great shot, it is a little blurry and funky, but I really like the effect that it has. It represents what scuba diving through this part of the the cave was like. It was dark and cold, and it felt like you just had to keep focusing on the one light in front of you and keep going.
