There seems to be a bit of excitement around London the last few days, so I dug one of my shots of the city out of the archive and processed it. Night photos like this always take awhile to setup, and this one was no exception as I had to wait for a group of friends to sort out their way home while teetering on the top of these steps. Ultimately they make a good decision to take the tube instead of driving, and more importantly they get out of my shot!
Lupine in the Spring Thaw
In Iceland you expect to see ice and snow, but it is actually much more green and full of life than you might think. These colorful lupine were here to add some great contrast to the usual landscape of running water and snow.
Into the Trees
I love trails like this. The brightly lit green of the trees almost makes it feel like you are walking through a tunnel in the forest.
Sliding Into Summer
Last week was all about winter and this week is all about summer! This caterpillar knows all about the change of the seasons. They are taking over our neighborhood right now, but it won’t be long before the seasons change and these guys make a transformation of their own.
Last Cornice of Spring
Skiing off a cornice such as this one can be intimidating. Last weekend there was nothing but soft, slushy spring snow everywhere, so skiing over this was more like dropping into a pile of mashed potatoes than skiing over a steep drop.
The Hill and the Tree
I did a quick trip up this hill with a friend to make it to this spot just in time for the last bit of sunset. The sky over the bay was beautiful, but one tree sticking out on its own really stood out for me.
The Hike Starts Before Dawn
To get to the bottom of the Grand Canyon and back up in one day, you should start well before dawn. This is near the top of the canyon, and you will take many more switchbacks like it before you get to the bottom.
Beach House
We spent our days in the sun on the beach, but we spent our nights in this cozy little place under the glow of the night sky.
Last Light
Some say sunset is the best, but for those with some patience to wait 25 seconds for a long exposure, the time just after sunset can really let the city lights shine.
Zion Isn’t Just for Rocks
It’s also for waterfalls! A short hike and a steady tripod was all that it took to get a shot of this little waterfall.
