Windswept Powder

A pleasant slope with some windswept powder available for the taking. All you have to do is jump in and poach that line.

Sunset Trees

There was a brief time tonight when the sky just lit up. I ran out with my camera to a park and found some trees to add to the foreground. This is the result. The trees are just starting to bud out here, so you can still see through the branches to the beautiful clouds behind them.

Just Below the Clouds

This is my lucky 200th post! Why is it lucky? It is because if I’m lucky, by posting a picture of snow for such a milestone for my blog, I will get more snow in Tahoe! Happy 200th post to me!

This was taken on one of those amazing days at Squaw Valley. The cloud level kept rising and falling. Sometimes we were in the clouds, sometimes they were just above us and everything seemed perfectly clear.

Painted Ladies

I’ve lived near San Francisco for years and never taken this shot to death and clichéd photo before? Looks like I solved that problem. DONE! Enjoy the Painted Ladies of San Francisco, and reminisce about watching Full House in years past.

Tree Lined Trail

This relaxing trail had the perfect layer of trees on each side to protect it from the nearby coastal winds.

Snowy Barn

This is a typical view in the area I grew up of a snowy barn in winter. I have to admit it is a sight that I miss every once in awhile!

Utah Slope

I took this shot while skiing at Powder Mountain in Utah. Obviously there was some fresh snow to be had on this blue bird day!

Rainbow Leaves

It may be December in Northern California, but there are still many shades of leaves on the trees. I was able to frame this one to get some red, orange, yellow and still green leaves all at once.

Three Palms

I’m going to do one more quick and dirty photo from the dreaded camera phone, and then I’ll get back to business. This one is from downtown Sacramento, and heavily processed by one of those ever so clever vintage apps. It works well for this one, giving the palms trees an old California feel and letting them stand out against a modern building in the background. Enjoy!

Fake Funnel Cloud

I came home to a computer that wouldn’t power on, so tonight I’m posting a photo I snapped with my phone from my office the other day. This type of cloud formation is from a plane passing through a cloud layer above, causing water to drop and disrupt the clouds below. I thought it looked like a mini funnel cloud, and my midwest background told me to take cover!
