The Pokey

The historic Pokey in Murphy’s CA.  Fortunately none of us have had to do any hard time here as the accomodations do not look quite up to standard.

Clouds Over Crater Lake

This isn’t the typical view of Crater Lake with deep blue sky and water, but I still like it. The ominous clouds and almost grey water make the scene a little spooky.

Narrow

This narrow alley in San Francisco almost felt like it was closing in on itself. The doorway at the end and across the street just draws you in.

Top of the Falls

On a backpacking trip I stayed overnight very near the top of Nevada Falls. This allowed me the unique opportunity of being at the top of the falls all night, and I was able to get some great shots of the sun going down!

Fallen Tree

There are many fallen trees on the hike to Lake Margaret.  This one was on the side of the trail and someone had taken the time to cut all of the branches off.  I’m not sure why they were cut off, but as I looked at it from the end I liked the way the stumps disappeared into the background.

Grimy Wires

Earlier this year I was in San Diego to run my second marathon.  The day after the race I toured the USS Midway.  I found this interesting bundle of wires on one of the planes on the ship and decided it would make a good image.  I post processed this one a bit to make it look “grimy” and liked the way it turned out.
