The historic Pokey in Murphy’s CA. Fortunately none of us have had to do any hard time here as the accomodations do not look quite up to standard.
Fern
The top of this fern was pretty, but the underside is where all of the attention to detail was! Each little group of seeds has so much going on.
Light at the End of the Tunnel
This cool old bridge was fun to walk through, and the way the light was outside gave the exit a pretty cool effect.
Clown Fish
There weren’t too many of these fish on my dives, and the ones that I did see were more skittish than I was expecting. These three stayed in one spot long enough for me to get a shot.
Amgen Tour of California
This image is from the when the Amgen Tour of California passed through Sacramento. Mark Cavendish won this stage and is in the center of this image with the glasses with the green lenses and white frames. Lance Armstrong is in there somewhere, but I didn’t spot him as this huge group zipped by.
Mt. Shasta Sunset
On a drive home I found a good overlook towards Mt. Shasta around sunset. As a big fan of snow and the mountians, it was great to see traces of snow on the far away peak. I had to stop a few times to find a spot with a clear enough line of sight to get this shot. I thought about trying to keep the power poles out of the frame, but decided that leaving them in add a little extra detail to the photo.
South Siam 3
This is the liveaboard dive boat I was on while in the Similan Islands. It was awesome coming back to the ship after a late afternoon dive when the sun was starting to set. This trip had some of the best diving I had ever seen.
Pavilion
The Jay Pritzker Pavilion in Chicago is open air and very unique. The lights at dusk set it off against the sky perfectly.
Creepy Dude
Meet creepy dude. He has red eyes, bad hair, a big nose, and likes to hang out in Portland. He is probably auditioning for the leading role in the upcoming movie Saw VII. We crossed paths and he allowed me this one shot. I think I nailed it!
Lewis and Clark Yurt
I’m convinced that this is the best yurt at South Beach State Park in Oregon. It is called the Lewis and Clark Yurt. There is a short walk up a little hill to get to it, and it has a private deck that looks out into the tree tops. The ocean is nearby and made for some great sounds to fall asleep to. A little light painting with my headlamp on this long exposure gave the yurt a cool color!
