This view is very common along the country highways of Wisconsin, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t worth stopping the car.
Last Light at Pigeon Point
After a day of hiking, I had to rush down to the shoreline to catch sunset at this old lighthouse. It was worth the hustle, as I had just enough time to set up for this shot before the sun went down.
Highland Cow
The shaggy coat of this Highland Cow was equally at home in her native Scotland, or where I found her in chilly Wisconsin.
Merry and Bright
It doesn’t snow where I live, but it does where I grew up. When I’m home for the holidays I get a chance to appreciate all the cold and snow! Merry Christmas!
Milwaukee Winter
Getting ready for my annual trip to the Midwest reminded me I had shots from last year to share. I hope that I’m ready for the cold!
Spooky Fleet
These decommissioned ships are known as the Reserve Fleet. They have patiently waited for years to be disassembled as they rust away in the bay. When they are finally gone I’ll miss their eerie presence.
The Biggest Fish in the Sea
I immediately forgot about the long, rough boat ride as soon as I spotted my first whale shark. A wide angle lens masks just how massive these guys really are. Despite their size, they weren’t very interested in me, and swam on by looking for more tiny bits of food to filter out of the Caribbean Sea.
Skyline Sundown
My only goal driving down Skyline Boulevard was to catch the sunset, but I didn’t have much of a plan. The first trail I stopped at was a winner, I only had a short hike to get this shot.
Over Under
The path of this trail cuts away the earth, so you can see not only the trees above, but the roots below.
Air Force One
I had a front-row seat from my office yesterday when President Obama arrived at Moffett Field in California. I didn’t get to see the man himself, but his plane made quite the entrance.
