I was going to start acknowledging that it is spring and post less winter photos. Honest. I was. There are two things working against me. First of all I love winter. Second, I was in the Boston area last week and was caught in a snow storm the night before April Fools’ Day. So here it is, another snow photo. Maybe spring will come soon, even for me.

A Tree Well Trimmed
I did some yard work today and took care of trimming a tree that has needed some maintenance for a while. The lower branches were getting out of control. This was one of the smaller branches, and I was able to leave more of the pattern of the tree intact by using a clippers instead of a saw. After I noticed the detail I knew I had to get a photo.
Snow Study #1
After an overnight snowfall in Lake Tahoe these branches were overweighted with snow, creating a cool pattern.
Communication
A very big satellite dish. It was either for a very big job or old technology. Either way, it made for an imposing subject in front of the direct sunlight beaming down on it.
Death of a Tree
The death of a tree is a sad thing. This particular tree met its match, like many in the area did at the time, after a few very stormy days. This park was hit hard, and some of the trees ended up with their roots in the air.
Down on the Corner
There are many cool sights in Playa del Carmen. This establishment on a bright yellow street corner is certainly one of them! It was early so not may people were out enjoying this restaurant yet, but I’m sure the crowds were coming!
Feelin’ Crabby
I recently took a short kayak trip on a river that emptied into the Caribbean Sea at Tres Rios in Mexico. After the trip towards the ocean our guide asked everyone if they saw all of the crabs and other wildlife on the way down. I did not. On the way back I did not make the same mistake. These guys were everywhere once you started looking! They were a little shy, but this ones was either vain enough or dumb enough to let me get pretty close to him for a picture.
A Tree Between Two Roads
This tree looks lonely, it has no friends to hang out with. Instead it just has the concrete and traffic to keep it company.
