Spooky Hotel

I have a confession. This hotel really isn’t spooky, I just made it look a little spooky. Taking advantage of some wide angle distortion and a threatening sky gave the Ashland Springs Hotel a completely different look.

Fuzzy Berries

I found these small fuzzy berries on the side of a trail and had to stop to get a photo. I’m not sure exactly what they were, but the closer I got the more detail that they revealed.

Tree Lined Trail

This relaxing trail had the perfect layer of trees on each side to protect it from the nearby coastal winds.

Stump Pattern

If this fallen tree could talk I’m sure it would have lots to say. I was more interested in the way the center of the tree had rotted away, and that the deterioration of the whole thing had created a really strong pattern!

Behind the Falls

This shot is taken from behind one of the many waterfalls in Silver Falls State Park in Oregon. It was a beautiful day, and walking behind this waterfall made a wet Oregon day even wetter. It was worth it for the view!

The Trail

This is the trail that leads to Salt Creek Falls in Oregon. It was lightly raining on the day that I took this. It seemed as if there was a constant state of running water on this trail, and you can see that by the way the center of the trail is washed out. The positive side of all of the rain and water is that everything is bright green!

Duck Flower

These tiny purple flowers looked more like a duck than a flower to me. I was able to isolate it from the background enough to really make each little piece of fuzz on the edge stand out and make it look much more like the duck that I saw in it.

Brain Mushroom

I found this little tiny mushroom on a hike that had a leaf nearby with just the perfect curl to it. I don’t know exactly what it was, but it looked like a brain to me.

Irving St. Kitchen

A cool spot in Portland Oregon; the Irving St. Kitchen.  These little discs that they used for the sign by the entrance caught my eye and I snapped this shot.

Salt Creek Falls

I was not looking for Salt Creek Falls.  I was planning a detour after getting rained out of a night of camping.  This gave us some extra time to get to the next spot and I was looking for things to see.  A small sign for Salt Creek Falls was all that it took to get me to stop, and I was greeted by the second highest waterfall in Oregon at 286 ft.
