Palms in the Night
Some fast moving clouds meant that I got to have some fun photographing these tall palm trees. The colors were crazy with the night sky and the different colors of light coming from houses nearby.
Sleepy San Jose
Not San Jose, CA, but San Jose Costa Rica. Most people had gone to sleep, but a few cars were on the street to provide me with some light trails.
Red Eyed Tree Frog
I just got back from Costa Rica, and I hate to admit it but I took way too many photos. A few made it worth the effort. It rained during the day which we didn’t appreciate at the time, but at night it meant that this tree frog was out and about. A local showed us where to look. It took some searching around in the dark, actually more listening than looking, but there he was waiting. I found what I was looking for, I hope he found the insects he was looking for.
Happy Halloween!
My neighborhood has a history of getting into the spirit of Halloween. Some houses even have decorations that take over the entire front yard. I particularly like the No Mercy Cemetery with its spooky skeleton standing guard!
Star Trails
I spent a long, cold hour and 38 minutes by Donner Lake in April to get this shot. The process consisted of continuously taking photos and later combining them to show the the stars moving across the night sky. I also missed five and a half minutes when my camera stopped, creating what looks like a break in the trails. At first I didn’t like this, but the effect is growing on me. Multiple trains passing through gave the foreground an added bonus of a streak of light through the mountain. I’m happy with this first attempt and excited to try it again!
Milwaukee Winter
Getting ready for my annual trip to the Midwest reminded me I had shots from last year to share. I hope that I’m ready for the cold!
