The old Cadillac was very cool, but I wanted to focus on just the hood ornament. Going for a macro shot meant I could really make it look like she was flying.

Spring will be here soon, new buds are popping up everywhere.

Some people don’t find banana slugs very interesting, but I like the chance to practice my macro work. I watched this guy eat a leaf for awhile before noticing he wasn’t the only one having a snack. There is also some type of bug that looks to be biting the slug!

Like most things in the ocean, this guy doesn’t like to be touched. His stinging white bristles are flared out since he noticed me, but it wasn’t too difficult to avoid all 1.5 inches of him. I spent at least 10 minutes to get this shot and I’m pretty happy with the result. He was cooperative, but the current moved him around enough to make getting this shot a time-consuming process.

This moth was so interested in the flower, he didn’t even notice me sticking my lens in his face.

This guy didn’t give me much time to get up close and personal, but I made the most of it!

These mushrooms seemed to pop up in my backyard overnight. A few days later they disappeared just as quickly as they arrived.

I’ve recently had a few unwelcome visitors in the house. Normally I wouldn’t find a fly that interesting, but this one was slowing down in his old age and did a good job of posing. I offered him one photo op before sending him to the trash can.

I photographed this bug in his natural environment of course, on the edge of a paper grocery bag!

I was in the backyard taking photos of the very last rose left at the end of summer. I thought the photos would be OK but typical. I was so intent on keeping the shot in focus I didn’t realize I wasn’t the only one enjoying that very flower!
