Quadracci Pavilion

The Quadracci Pavilion of the Milwaukee Art Museum is simply breathtaking! This was an addition to the original museum and is certainly more noticeable than the rest of the structure. The 217 foot wide sunscreen you can see here opens and closes each day, or when the winds become too strong. I think it looks like a huge bird about to take off and fly over Lake Michigan.

The Conga Line

This wasn’t exactly what I was expecting to see on the opening night of the Crocker Art Museum in Sacramento, but when the opportunity arose I had my camera ready to capture this unique silhouette. Apparently someone had organized a conga line, and it just so happened to pass right in front of a ocean scape mural to provide a two tone backdrop.

Grand Opening

This is the Croker Art Museum as it was seen in Sacramento on its grand opening on 10/10/10.  The building itself is pretty cool, and the lights really gave it a unique look against the black night sky.

Laser Show

The Crocker Art Museum in Sacramento has been closed for some time to allow for a new addition to be built to the museum.  I went on opening night when they had the old and new parts of the building open and hosted some bands and a laser show in their new courtyard.  It is a pretty interesting space, with classic architecture on one side opposed to the new ultra modern building right next to it.  I’m excited to check out some of the upcoming events that they are planning to hold here.  The opening night had some great lighting that led to some cool photo opportunities.
