Yellow

This shot is pure yellow. I liked getting close for this one, it almost makes me forget exactly what I’m looking at.

The Grapes?

I’m not sure what was growing in this field, but I’m pretty sure they weren’t making wine with it this year. It did make the scene non-typical for a vineyard in Napa, and the blossoms really popped against the sky.

Fields of Green

There are plenty of crazy colors and delicious food items at the Farmer’s Market in San Francisco. I chose to zoom in on this bright green barley grass that was for sale.

Walk This Way

Climbing the cables on the way to the top of Halfdome in Yosemite can be a daunting experince. I normally do this 14 mile hike on the weekends when these cables on the final ascent can be very crowded. Recently I did it mid week, and the cables were relatively empty. This allowed me a great view of the cables themselves. This angle is close to the top where the slope in front of you isn’t as steep, but the roll off to the side makes you think twice about what you are doing.

Hello City

A piece of the San Francisco skyline. On a clear day from the Ferry Building in San Francisco, this is the view that you will see. The sky layered nicely with the different buildings as the spread out into the distance.

Towers and Trees

The Omni Hotel in San Diego is in a great location, close to the ocean and the gas lamp, and surrounded by signature palm trees. This angle allowed me to capture both the trees and the tower together.

101 California

This spot on California St in San Francisco made an interesting focal point. I shot into the sun and didn’t mind the way that the flare turned out, I think it adds a little bit to the photo.

Green Friend

This crazy bug was called to my attention one fine morning.  At first it looked like he could have been a leaf perfectly placed on the back of a chair, but on further inspection I saw it was in fact a very curious bug.  As I got very close to him to take this picture he tried to reach out and practically jump onto my lens.  It was almost as if he wanted a closer look!

Lift Off

At the Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco I scared this pigeon at the right time to get him taking off over the water.

At the Helm

Our trusty captain after a day of diving in Thailand, taking us safely back to shore.
