Purple

Taken at the farmer’s market in San Francisco.  Unfortunately I don’t remember what this was, but close up it looked pretty crazy with the contrasting purple on green.

Salt Creek Falls

I was not looking for Salt Creek Falls.  I was planning a detour after getting rained out of a night of camping.  This gave us some extra time to get to the next spot and I was looking for things to see.  A small sign for Salt Creek Falls was all that it took to get me to stop, and I was greeted by the second highest waterfall in Oregon at 286 ft.

Grand Opening

This is the Croker Art Museum as it was seen in Sacramento on its grand opening on 10/10/10.  The building itself is pretty cool, and the lights really gave it a unique look against the black night sky.

Oregon Coast

On the long drive back home to California from Oregon I was treated to many great ocean views.  I had to pick and choose when to stop the car to take some photos.  This windblown sand beach proved to be worth the stop.

Laser Show

The Crocker Art Museum in Sacramento has been closed for some time to allow for a new addition to be built to the museum.  I went on opening night when they had the old and new parts of the building open and hosted some bands and a laser show in their new courtyard.  It is a pretty interesting space, with classic architecture on one side opposed to the new ultra modern building right next to it.  I’m excited to check out some of the upcoming events that they are planning to hold here.  The opening night had some great lighting that led to some cool photo opportunities.

Longtail Boats

The colorful ribbons on the front of longtail boats in Thailand are to protect the boat and it’s passengers and ensure a save voyage.  My trip was safe and the voyage was amazing.  This line up of boats was on the islands of Koh Phi Phi.  The water was perfectly clear and the beach itself was just pristine!

Lavender

This lavender smelled great, it almost made me forget that I could also have wine at the great winery where I found this!

Skyline

Looking up at the Chicago skyline.  Some great building here including the Trump Tower and the Wrigley Building.  A few clouds in the sky and the reflection of the sun provide just enough contrast.  I also like the way the top of the Wrigley reflection can be seen in the bottom of the Trump Tower.

Going Down?

These steps in the Yaquina Bay Lighthouse were old, creaky and didn’t really go anywhere, but the view from the top was cool!

Pink and White with a Side of Green

I loved the different colors at the farmers market, and I especially liked the way that these two different colors of radishes looked next to each other.
