An interesting old staircase that leads to somewhere you probably don’t want to go.

Sunset
I just had to pull off the road when I saw this. The sunset behind this tree and a truck was at the entrance to a winery we were driving by. I was lucky to be there at the right time.
Don't Push!
While this big red button looked like it had not been in use recently, I didn’t trust myself to push it. I guess some mysteries are better left unknown.
Stacked Barrels
I went to a wine and food event at the Old Sugar Mill today. The Old Sugar Mill is a unique set of buildings that have been restored to house wine tasting rooms. A few of the wineries had barrels stacked up to the ceiling. The light shining in through the skylights made the barrels glow nicely in this particular shot.
The L
I guess I’m in a Chicago kind of mood. On a morning shoot I caught the frequent L train buzzing by above the street, and thought that capturing a bit of motion would make this image more interesting.
Lollapalooza
Today marks the beginning of one of my favorite events, Lollapalooza in Chicago. This is a photo I took a previous year. I love the lakefront location and cityscape backdrop coming together to create a perfect feeling for this event.
A Great View
This was a familiar view from the same Tahoe hike I posted a few days ago. Clear blue skies, snow on the mountains in the distance, and little wildflowers spotting the sides of the trail. A constant view like this made it the perfect day to be out there.
Magnolia
I don’t often do HDR, but this view of one of my favorite places in the haight just asked for it, so I decided to take some artistic liberty. I like the way the colors came together and the result gives the image an older feel.
Three Rocks
There is a viewpoint of Lake Tahoe on the north shore that is a few mile hike from the road. At the top there are three interesting rock pillars that I used to change up the typical view of the lake. On the hike up they just looked like piles of rock that stuck up from the highest point, but from the top I was able to use them to frame the sides of the lake.
Clear Blue Waters
I was able to spend last weekend in Tahoe and stayed at a great place right on the lake. We spent many a morning and night swimming at this very spot. The water was cold but felt amazing. I got this shot by getting down close to the water to catch the small waves that were coming in. The water was the most amazing shades of blue and green.
