On a hike back into town we chose the high road, this trail, and that was certainly a wise choice.

Old and New
When I was walking home from dinner I came across an old wall and fence of a building that looked like it was being torn down. I was able to contrast this with some new buildings in the background and the night sky.
Hydrangea Bee
I knew I had to get some photos when the hydrangea in the backyard was in full bloom. There were so many bees out that day I thought this would be easy, but these little guys move fast. I finally caught a good one. This is one of my favorites that I’ve taken recently.
Into the Abyss
This ant was crawling all around a flower that I found. In this shot it looks like he is debating whether or not to step into an abyss.
Stars and Cars
I went out to see the Perseids last week. I don’t think I was lucky enough to have my camera pointed at the right spot in the sky to capture any actual shooting stars. I did manage to catch this car going over the top of the hill we were on. Throw in some scenic cell towers and you have a nice contrast to the starry sky.
Night Windmills
I was at Golden Gate Park in San Francisco for Outsidelands this past weekend. They had these cool windmills setup that were lit up at night. The bright red light was really eye catching against the night sky!
The Sky is Falling
I decided to give this building outside my hotel room window an interesting perspecitve as the sun was coming up. I like the fact that there are just two lights on next to each other in the building.
Escaping Bee
While walking around the California State Capitol one day I noticed some nice bottle brush that I thought would make a nice photograph. There was only one bee there, and I caught him just as he was getting ready to fly away. Certainly made it more interesting than the bottle brush alone.
Bursting
This little flower seemed to be just bursting out of the center. I shot this one in the morning so I was able to get some nice dew on the petals.
